Farming Literature: Necessary for progressive agriculture

For precision and more income oriented farming, farmers should make a habit of reading agriculture literature. The agriculture literature contains information based on intensive research work carried under laboratory and field conditions.For the upliftment of agriculture and morale of farmers in the country, former Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Sh. Lai Bahadur Shashtri gave a slogan 'Plough Hard, Earn More'. That means farmers should work hard to earn more profit for their better livelihood. During early seventies, we did not have enough food to feed all the populace. With the onset of green revolution, hard work of the farmers and scientists of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, food grains production got a quantum jump and made the country self reliant.
