Supplies of land may be lower, and prices softer, but there's not a shortage of interest when a nice parcel of farmland goes up for sale in Kansas. Mike McKenna, a farmland appraiser around Jennings, says both farmers and investors are in the Kansas land market today. "We see neighboring farmers at the auctions for sure. But we also see investors, often with ties to the local community, who want something to invest in—something they believe is more stable than the stock market."
