The sugarcane crop is attacked by 10 important insect pests at various growth stages. The activity of some of these insect pests also varies with the seasons. For example, hot weather/drought favours the activity of early shoot borer and some sucking insect pests while the activity of stalk borer and topborer commences/increases with the commencement of rainy season. Several methods are available to reduce the incidence of these insect pests in the crop. However, there is a need to integrate these methods in a systematic way to get the maximum benefits
