Whirlwind Western Tour: ACSM, GITA, and ConExpo

Like major league baseball and PGA golf, surveying conferences seem to have a season to them and a fleetingly short off-season over the colder, holiday-filled months. This, coupled with the fact conferences always seem to happen concurrently or back to back for various reasons, means we go from little activity during winter months, save for some state society conferences, to a frenzy of extended travel. A recent foray proved the epitome of this, as we ventured to three shows in one trip. Not that we consider ourselves that glamorous, but the trip took on the aura of a rock tour as we traveled from city to city. We would have to stop on occasion and take stock of where were that day and what conference we were attending. But while it may prove arduous at times, we see it as fun, and it produces a wealth of new surveying information in a short time to bring to our readers.
