摘要

Conducting polymers have attracted much attention as drastic changes of properties occur upon doping due to the formation of polaronic states and reversible insulator-metal transitions. The polymer's electronic properties depend strongly on the molecular structure as has been demonstrated for polythiophene derivatives1 and, in our group, for a series 6f poly[1,4-bls(2-heterocycle)-2,5-disubstltuted phenylenes],2 Long alkyt chains have been attached to make these conducting polymers soluble In common organic solvents as In the case of poly{3-alkylthlophenes),1>3 and to Induce fusibility, as In the case of poly(9,9'-dlalkylfluorenes).4
