TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

2012 saw the introduction of a subsidy model for candidates who successfully completed the SAPA Management courses. I am pleased to announce that a total of R281 750 will be reimbursed to companies who registered their candidates on the courses. The reimbursement payments are paid out of the levy funds and demonstrate one small example of how the levy can be utilised to benefit the broader industry. A regional breakdown of the payments is Gauteng R112 700; KwaZulu -Natal R90 650; and the Western Cape R78 400. Aside from the monetary issues, I have noticed an increase in the success rate of the candidates who attended which is a positive step in the right direction.
