Paris-Ineos was planning to begin shutting down its 207,000 b/d Lavera refinery by March 30 if striking port workers at the southern French port of Marseille continue their action this week,a company spokeswoman said Tuesday."We continue to reduce the production," the spokeswoman said."We plan to start the process of shutting down the refinery at the end of the week." Ineos,which bought the Lavera plant from BP in late 2005,said March 26 it had already experienced a "serious" impact on operations due to the strike.Port workers voted to continue their strike Tuesday as shipping traffic at the oil hub was paralyzed for the 14th day.
