US ethanol sold at record high of 5.20/gal:market sources

Houston-US spot ethanol prices hit a record high June 15,with 10,000 barrels sold at 5.20/gal sold in New York Harbor for June 20-30 delivery,market sources reported.What was seen as significant in the market was the less-than-prompt timing of the sale.Previously,high prices were seen for distressed buyers,those needing ethanol almost immediately;further out sales - like a late-June sale - were 30 cents/gal or more below the absolutely prompt business.
