Two specialized types of additive wastes-batches for packaging were recently introduced by Ampacet Corp.,Tarrytown,N,Y.One is a desiccant additive for LDPE and LLDPE film to help protect the contents of the package from moisture penetration.Ampacet Product 101499 is aimed at food and pharmaceutical applications,where it reportedly can extend shelf life and/or permit cost savings through downgauging.The additive does confer some haze to the film.
