China June coal imports nearly double previous monthly record

China's coal imports in June were a record high 16.07 million mt, blowing away the previous high of 9.43 million mt seen a month earlier and 9.16 million mt in April. In the first six months, coal imports totaled 48.27 million mt, up 26.72 million mt, or 126.3%, year-on-year, according to widely reported statistics from China Customs.
