Effects of live yeast cell derivatives on antioxidatives and some of immune activities in Tinca tinca

Antioxidatives and several immune activities were examined in Tinca tinca fed 0.4% live yeast cell derivatives(LYCD). The SOD activity was determined using the nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) approach, CAT activity was measured using the KMnO4 method, LYZ was tested by the cylinder plate method, and MDA was measured by TBA approach. Results showed that there were great differences in activities of SOD, CAT, and LYZ in different tissues. The SOD activity was the highest in the gill compared to the hepatopancreas, spleen and kidney. After being fed LYCD, SOD activity increased to different levels in the different tissues increasing about 39% in gill, 33.5% in spleen and 19.4% in hepatopancreas and no difference in kidney as compared to their controls. The CAT activity was distributed mainly in hepatopancreas and increased significantly more in hepatopancreas than in the other three tissues after feeding with LYCD. Lipid peroxides such as malondiadhyde MDA was mainly accumulated in spleens and little less in hepatopancreas. The MDA level decreased significantly in hepatopancreas and spleen as compared to the control. LYZ activity increased almost 50% in gill and hepatopancreas, and 20% in spleen but no difference in kidney after being fed LYCD. Phagocytosis activity of neutrophils also increased significantly. These data indicate that LYCD could increase the antioxidatives and some immune activities in different tissues of Tinca tinca
