CIPP water-main renewal for Dallas utility

Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) has been used to renew more than 490m of water lines serving a treatment plant in a suburb of Dallas, US. The work was undertaken by Inland Pipe Rehabilitation"(IPR), the largest privately-owned trenchless infrastructure solutions provider in the country. IPR installed a pressure pipe renewal system provided by RS Technik using Dow custom-formulated resins. IPR said it invested in the new NSF certified technology a year ago and has since been training its crew, conducting demonstrations and securing pilot projects. "Overall, we are pleased with the progress we've made with our new installation system," explained Joe Cutillo, president and CEO of IPR. "The average age of a broken water main is roughly 45 years and it's estimated that nearly 25% of all water mains are older than 50 years.
