A video uploaded on a popular video-sharing website violated the rights of China's central television broadcaster, China's highest court said in a June 23 announcement that highlighted the case as "model" of internet copyright infringement. China's YouTube-like video-sharing site Tudou.com violated the copyright of China Central Television Station (CCTV) when it allowed a popular food documentary called "A Bite of China" to be uploaded and viewed without the station's authorization, the court said. The court awarded CCTV damages of 248,000 yuan (US$40,000).
