Autothermal Thermo-Philic Aerobic Digestion (ATAD) is a technology widely applied in Europe converting sewage sludge to Class A biosolids. The FUCHS AT AD is an EPA-approved process providing highest standards for biosolids (Class A according to EPA regulation 503) and delivers excellent result if stabilisation and disinfection is required. The last ATAD plant in Eastern Europe is currently investigated by Bialystok Technical University. The results will be publicised in the near future. Based on FUCHS latest advanced integrated concept (ATAD AICTM) it already comprises the newest kind of off-gas treatment with photo catalytic oxidation (PCO) and our new thickening/ de-watering concept. The city and several villages are discharging mainly domestic wastewater, but also faecal sludge to the plant. About 30,000 population equivalents (PE) are connected to the WwTP. It mainly comprises a stormwater tank, mechanical pretreatment (Huber), SBR reactors and sewage sludge digestion.
