One of the most eyecatching exhibits at the 2019 Crick Boat Show was the gorgeous pedal-powered boat from Broads-based boat-builder, Dad's Boats. It's a 17ft 4in two-person dinghy with a 3ft 8in beam and a canal-friendly 1ft 4in draught. Users sit opposite each other and pedal jointly, with the person at the stern doing the steering. The model originally exhibited was called the Elite, a name that matches its exquisite workmanship (and its £14,000 price tag). This is aimed at the sort of owner who has private water frontage and, likely, a dedicated boathouse.
