Work has begun on a £1.5m heritage and community hub for the Crinan Canal at Ardrishaig.It will tell the story of what Scottish Canals refers to as "Britain's most beautiful shortcut", as well as the wider and longer tale of the ancient coastal kingdom of Dalriada. This was the Gaelic super-kingdom that came torule the area from Argyll in Scotland to Antrim in Northern Ireland from around 500AD.
