摘要

The Water Supply and Sanitation Council (WSSCC) has warned decision-makers that deaths from diarrhoea remain extremely high, and that they are closely linked to inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene, and mainly affect under-fives in the world's poorest countries.rnFollowing the World Health Organization announcement that the H1N1 flu virus had ended its pandemic phase, the WSSCC called for the same approach to be taken with diarrhoea. The organisation took this message to the Stockholm Water meeting in early September and the UN summit of world leaders, the High-Level Plenary meeting of the General Assembly.
