Shaftless Screw Conveyors for Treatment Plant Residuals

Oewatered residuals from water and wastewater treatment dewatering processes are ideal applica-tions for shaftless screw conveyors available from Motion Industries and KWS Manufacturing. Wet and sticky bulk materials such as dewatered sludge, grit and screenings are efficiently conveyed with a shaftless spiral, eliminating the need for internal bearings or a center pipe. The shaftless design provides a non-plugging conveying surface. Conveying efficiency is improved where elevation changes are required because the shaftless spiral allows for higher loading in the trough. Shaftless conveyors are fully enclosed for vapor and odor-tight construction. Standard designs include one-piece drive shafts and unique flanged spirals to ensure efficient and reliable transmission of power.
