Waste facility operators are used to all manner of complaints from neighboring property owners, but this one had to raise few eyebrows. Jim Stenton, 64, of Sarnia, Ontario, has had a long-running antagonistic relationship with the Clean Harbors Environmental Services hazardous waste treatment plant located a mile and a half from his home. Over the years, Stenton claims, emissions from the facility have regularly caused him a range of ailments, including flu-like symptoms, nausea, sleeplessness, trouble breathing, even forcing him to evacuate his home on several occasions. But Stenton, who is in the process of suing Clean Harbors, also claims in sworn testimony that the facility is responsible for an uncomfortable swelling in his testicles.
