Chesapeake appoints new chief

DOMENIC 'Nick' Dell'Osso has been appointed as the new chief executive of US onshore giant Chesapeake Energy with immediate effect. Mike Wichterich, who served as interim chief executive, will assume the role of executive chairman of the board of directors, Chesapeake confirmed on 11 October. Chesapeake, in tandem, also provided highlights of the significant changes made to its executive compensation programme. The Oklahoma City-headquartered company said it is fully committed to developing equitable compensation structures that create a high degree of alignment between its management team, shareholders and other key stakeholders. One of the highlights of the scheme is that it is designed to "attract, retain and appropriately reward top talent" and also includes a long-term incentive programme - paid entirely in equity with 75% of the award value linked to total shareholder returns.
