Water chief recuses himself on Pebble, but not Chesapeake Bay

The head of U.S. EPA's Office of Water will not be involved in any decisions tied to the Pebble mine project in southwestern Alaska. Dave Ross, who represented mining company Pebble LP during his time at Washington, D.C., law firm Crowell & Moring LLP, withdrew himself from all matters related to the contentious copper and gold mining proposal.
