Exploration potential a major attraction

LONDON-LISTED independent Upland Resources has its eye on the exploration potential of Sarawak. Upland and local partner Brooke Dockyard and Engineering Works Corporation, better known as an offshore and marine contractor, in April 2018 tied up to jointly assess, explore and develop hydrocarbon assets in the East Malaysian state. Upland and Brooke, which is 100% owned by the Sarawak government, have already performed data-room studies and evaluations to identify prospective hydrocarbon plays of scale. The duo, believing it sees commercial resource potential, has conveyed its selection of assets to Sarawak state-owned oil and gas company Petroleum Sarawak, known as Petros, and has proposed details for a work programme.
