THE head of one of Norway's most active operators believes that all companies working on the country's continental shelf should share data in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Aker BP chief executive Karl Johnny Hersvik has initiated a move he calls "data liberation" on the Norwegian continental shelf - and he is certain that data sharing will benefit the industry as a whole. "Sharing of industrial data will help us drive innovation in all areas of the oil and gas industry. Our vision is to digitalise the entire life cycle for our operations to achieve increased productivity, better quality, higher efficiency and reduce environmental impact and improve safety for our employees," Hersvik says.
