Eni's net profit jumps by 25% as output increases

RECORD output from the exploration and production unit of Italian giant Eni helped boost the company's profit last year. Eni saw its net profit jump 25% to €4.23 billion ($4.79 billion), while underlying performance nearly doubled with Eni posting an adjusted net profit of €4.59 billion compared with €2.38 billion a year earlier. The jump in profit came as Eni generated €75.81 billion in net sales from operations, up 13% compared with €66.92 billion in 2017.
