THAILAND'S national upstream company PTTEP is preparing to spin the drillbit next week on Block SK 410B off Sarawak, East Malaysia. PTTEP will use Velesto Energy's jack-up Naga 6 for the Lang Lebah-1 exploration well, which is understood to be targeting gas. The drilling is expected to start around 7 March and be completed in mid-May, with the well set to take around 70 days to complete. PTTEP was awarded the shallow-water block, which covers some 1800 square kilometres off Sarawak, in July 2016. The following year the Thai company acquired 3D seismic on the acreage.
