Northrop Grumman is working to outfit the U.S. Navy's MQ-8B Fire Scout with the Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System, a laser-guided, 70 mm rocket, the company said in early November. The work is being done under a $17 million contract awarded to Northrop Grumman in September by Naval Air Systems Command. Final delivery of an operational system is scheduled for March 2013. "By arming Fire Scout, the Navy will have a system that can locate and prosecute targets of interest," says George Vardoulakis.
