How deep is the ocean - How high is the sky?

In my view, if we had spent half of what we spent on our 'outer space' on our 'inner space', the world would be in a far better shape. So, how deep is our 'inner space', and what should we be doing in all that space? The deepest seabed that we know of so far is the Challenger Deep at the southern end of the Mariana Trench, where 54 years ago Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard descended almost 7 miles (still unbeaten!). The bourdon gauge in the Bathyscaphe Trieste recorded 11,521m, which was then corrected for water density to the official depth of 10,911m.
