With three TBMs driving hydro tunnels in Ethiopia, SELI is experiencing mixed fortunes on two projects - excellent progress in basalt at Beles, to extremely difficult going at Gilgel Gibe II with a long section of unexpected soft ground and groundwater pressures up to 35 bar.
