摘要

Platinum - palladium electrocatalysts of different ratios were electrodeposited on glassy carbon disc electrodes. Electrochemical studies were carried out to examine the surface composition of the alloy. The voltammogram of the bimetallic system shows composite hydrogen and oxygen electrosorption properties. The electrooxidation of methanol, formaldehyde and ethylene glycol are reported both in acid and alkaline medium. The electrocatalytic activity increases the oxidation rate of ethylene glycol compared to the other two compounds and a synergism is noticed. No significant improvement is found in acid medium.
