The customer, BEST, is one of India's foremost operators. The Birhanumumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking bus and rail network will run the cutting edge system. ERG Transit Systems, a world leader in public transport ticketing solutions with projects in over 200 cities around the world, and Kaizen, the pre-eminent engineering company in India with offices in Mumbai and Delhi, jointly delivered the ground-breaking system. Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, has led again, this time in smart card technology implementation for Automated Fare Collection (AFC) with the first system of its kind in India.
