During the four stages of grapevine development ("bloom", "pea-grain-size of berries", "veraison" and "technological maturity of grapes") leaves were collected from grapevine cvs Bolgar and Mavrud, grown in an industrially polluted region and a region with no industrial pollution, from the zone of the 4th-6th nodes (opposite the cluster) and the heavy metal content was determined therein. Samples were digested by microwaves. During the growing period a clear tendency of increasing heavy metal contents (Pb, Zn and Cd) in the leaves was observed.
