Chiltern starts loco-hauled services

Chiltern Railways has started to operate two loco-hauled services from the latest timetable changes as part of its'main line'project. One train will be the 05.46 Birmingham Moor Street to Marylebone, making the 111-mile journey in 2hr 6min. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, this service will be formed of a Class 67, a DVT and Wrexham & Shropshire Mk 3 carriages, with a Class 168 being used for the Monday train. This is due to maintenance requirements for the loco-hauled set. The return service from Marylebone is at 16.33. The availability of the WSMR set comes as a result of a consolidation of that operator's off-peak services.
