ALAN PEGLER'S ASHES SCATTERED IN FIREBOX

Ashes of Alan Pegler OBE, saviour of Flying Scotsman and the Ffestiniog Railway, were scattered in the firebox of FR Hunslet locomotive Linda during a memorial weekend on the Welsh narrow gauge line. The emotional event took place at Penrhyn on October 6, during the journey of a special train conveying members of Alan's family and friends. Further ashes were scattered at Tan-y-BwIch, where a memorial service was held.
