Cambrian Heritage Railways presented its development plans to local politicians on October 26. The long-held ambition of creating a heritage railway linking Oswestry to the main line at Gobowen, and rebuilding the route to Llanymynech in the opposite direction, previously reported by The RM, has been costed at £9million. CHR trustees are seeking local business and political backing in support of grant applications to finance the scheme, and the hope is that construction could start in spring 2015.
