'Joem'in Wensleydale return: andthey get an A4 for a day!

'Nelpg's J72 No. 69023, still referred to by many as Joem even though it no longer carries that name externally, will return to the Wensleydale Railway at Easter and stay throughout the season to provide resident steam. The 0-6-0T has worked at the line for the last two years, but the one-day visit on May 24 of A4 No. 4464 Bittern will be a Wensleydale first. The visit is being sponsored by the Wensleydale Festival, which will be selling tickets for the event. A gauging issue at Bedale station has to be verified, but it is thought the A4 will not have a problem negotiating this. Wensleydale February half-term services will be restricted to the section between Leeming Bar and Newton-le-Willows due to the landslip at Akebar [RM Christmas). The full route should be open by Easter.
