Boiler progress for Train From Spain Appeal loco

Work on the boiler fittings of Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Preservation Society's 1929-built Krauss 4-6-2 No. 8457 is progressing at Old Hall Engineering. The loco was bought at the beginning of this year and is the subject of The Train From Spain Appeal. Its wheelsets have been built up with weld prior to turning; this will meet Ravenglass & Eskdale's (R&ER) standard profile. A new tender will be constructed rather than an attempt to repair leaks identified during trials (RM May).
