摘要

The focus of this paper is on one group of disabilities, those with specific learning difficulties, and from two perspectives. It discusses the tensions between medical and social models of disability in trying to meet legal obligations. It provides a potential means of delivering an embedded model of practice which includes equipping staff with the knowledge and confidence to support individuals with specific learning difficulties and the means of screening individuals taking a bio-psychosocial approach, to be potentially implemented in a police service context.
