Civil Engineering Education: The Future

摘要

The future of civil engineering education is increasingly coming under discussion. The discussion is healthy, and the ideas have not produced fixed positions or opposing camps. There is room for many points of view. The calls for change, and the issues themselves, are profound. Here we offer some personal observations from the combined (and occasionally disharmonious) views of academia and industry. We focus on only two of the current "hot" topics: globalization of the A/E/C market, and the Master of Science degree as the first professional degree.
