In the article "EPA at Low Ebb" (March/April 2008), Jeff Ruch asks why EPA's "misdeeds" have escaped significant scrutiny. I can answer that question; because the alleged misdeeds don't stand up to scrutiny. Indeed, I'm surprised The Environmental Forum printed a piece that so clearly draws general conclusions based on gross mischaracterizations of a few EPA policies while ignoring a mountain of achievements. I agree something is at low ebb, but it's not EPA.rnReaders don't need to rely on innuendo to know what EPA is up to. Anyone can see how EPA is doing on the most pressing environmental problems in virtually any part of the country or any part of the organization by looking at our "Quarterly Management Report". And it's based on good old objective data. This report shows the good, the bad, and the ugly. But if you're not an EPA data geek, and you want to know, broadly, what EPA has been doing to protect you, your kids, and your kid's kids, read on.
