Ibrahim Khandra, from the suburbs of Philadelphia, is well-known in the Cork pharmaceutical community and an avid player with the Cork Admirals, a Cork-based American football team. Ibrahim holds a degree in Applied Maths & Physics and went on to achieve a Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Fluids) by night whilst working as a validation engineer by day. He joined Centocor in 1999 and has since worked on numerous high profile projects throughout the world including Centocor's Leiden plant in Holland. He is the lead engineer on the woodchip boiler project and was the driving force behind its successful adoption and subsequent completion. Ibrahim's next project is the creation of a standard design platform for Centocor, ensuring that the lessons learned from the Cork plant are disseminated across the group, enabling significant cost savings.
