What inspired you to become a technology and engineering educator? I started my teaching career after working in architecture and construction for six years. When my teaching career began, I started because it was just a job. However, over the last twelve years, I have developed a passion for wanting to see kids grow and problem-solve in ways they don't always believe in or always see when they approach a problem. Watching them have those "Aha, I get it" and "That was so cool" moments is what makes being an educator rewarding and satisfying. What do you consider your greatest successes in the classroom? Making real-world connections with kids. My students are always telling me they love being in my class because I am fair and hold all accountable to be successful. One of my primary goals is to have the classroom be a workplace environment to prepare them for college or career. Students love the accountability piece, as they feel more responsible for their personal growth and learning experiences.
