To sum up, both Kautilya and Sun Tzu highlight the ever-changing and dynamic nature of concepts like power, warfare and national interests. Their theories emphasise the need for flexibility, the ability to deal with paradoxes and prosecution of seemingly contradictory approaches to ensure success. Therefore, concepts such as attack and defence, direct and indirect approach, power and morality, and ethics and deception are used to complement each other.
