摘要

The potential to produce mechanical pulp from Jack Pine by combining selective refining with various chemical treatments of the long fibre fraction was evaluated by investigating fibre characteristics and paper properties after refining. The results demonstrated that, compared to fibres without chemical treatment, treated fibres can be developed and strength properties can be improved to some extent. Moreover, selective refining shows an advantage in terms of refining energy consumption and physical properties over whole-pulp refining.
