ImageSat Wins Pair of European Satellite Imagery Contracts

ImageSat International N.V. of Cyprus signed separate contracts with the European Union Satellite Center and NLR, the Netherlands National Aerospace Laboratory, to provide imagery collected by ImageSat's Eros A high-resolution remote-sensing satellite, the Israeli company announced Feb. 24. The European Union Satellite Center, located in Torrejon, Spain, uses satellite imagery for projects such as crisis management and humanitarian and peace-keeping missions. Under the deal with the NLR, ImageSat will provide a kit that will allow the laboratory's mobile ground station to download Eros imagery directly. The Rapids ground station currently can receive imagery from the French Spot satellites, India's IRS spacecraft and Europe's ERS and En-visat spacecraft. The values of the two contracts were not released.
