Fernröntgenseitenbild in der Therapie der obstruktiven Schlafapnoe

Background As an introduction the results of a pilot study on the validation of lateral cephalometric X-rays (FRS) in the therapy of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) with intraoral advancement splints (IPS) are presented. In a follow-up study the focus was on clarification of the basic methodological question whether FRS can be also carried out in an upright body position or whether an X-ray examination with patients in a supine position is absolutely necessary.
