The name game

The Obama administration has returned to convention with its latest announcement of future warship names. The next three Arleigh Burke Flight HA class destroyers are to be called USS John Finn (DDC 113), USS Ralph Johnson (DDC 114) and USS Rafael Peralta (DDC 115), after Medal of Honor and Navy Cross recipients. Two Littoral Combat Ships will be named USS Sioux City (LCS11) and USS Omaha (LCS 12). The Freedom and Independence class vessels, are named after mid-west cities.
