Performance pays

摘要

The latest crop of decision support software is continuing to push the boundaries of what parameters can be monitored onboard a ship, and analysing the resulting data can assist in optimising energy and fuel consumption. Towards the end of last year, Italian classification society RINA launched a suite of energy management software called InfoSHIP EGO, which it developed with IB Software & Consulting. Since then, 21 vessels, mostly passenger ships, have had the some modules of the system installed onboard, and the service is not limited to those ships classed by RINA.
