Human factors engineering and socio-technical systems

摘要

The human factors engineering (HFE) concept is about the comprehensive integration of human characteristics into the definition, design, development and evaluation of the ship to optimise human/machine performance. A design produced using HFE takes into consideration human limitations, visual and motor sensitivity, cognitive capacity and memory limits, and workload capacities. The design stage is the crucial point at which we can address the functional requirements from the user perspective. This is where all the principles of human factors engineering can most usefully be applied.
