Volatile constituents from Brunfelsia grandiflora ssp. grandiflora: Qualitative analysis by GC-MS

The composition of the steam volatile oil of the aerial parts of Brunfelsia grandiflora was analysed by GC-MS. Components identification was performed by means of their mass spectra and their retention indices. The 122 identified compounds were mainly hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ketones, alcohols and esters; methyl salicylate was the predominant constituent. Almost one third of the compounds were from terpenic origin.
