ESTIMATION OF PRAVASTATIN SODIUM BY HPLC IN PHARMACEUTICAL ORAL SOLID DOSAGE FORMS

A new simple and sensitive Reverse Phase HPLC method was developed for the estimation of pravastatin sodium in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The mobile phase used in this method was methanol: orthophosphoric acid (adjusted to pH4) in the ratio 100 mL: 10 drops and it obeyed the beer's law in a concentration range of 100-1000·g/mL at a wavelength of 239 nm. The method proposed was reproducible and it was extended to pharmaceutical formulations.
